In order to publish your book, of course you need to write.

You need a topic to write the book right. You need to know what kind of book you want to work on. If you want to work on a fiction or suspense novel, you need to work in one method; while on the other, it is in other way.

As I mentioned in 1st point. Prepare yourself before you start. Getting ready for a function or an outing makes you to feel unique and good among the others. Whereas in your work preparing you tends to feel comfortable and having peace of mind.
3. Don't decide a title until you finish,
The persons who read books, actually they buy or take your concept if they love your title. Your title is the main key to unlock the book. As an author, I know how you feel; in the time we write, lot of names revolve around your brain. But don't listen to brain. Complete your book and decide a title at the last makes you to know what is in. Which helps you to decide the name on the basis of the content.
4. Edit,
Paying bucks to edit your book, is the wrong way or proposal. The person who knew his story, will know the emotion, which he want to convey the audience. If you fail in edit, it tends to commit as a work failure.
5. Just go,
After the completion of your work. We feel like, do they love this book? No. don't think of other's. Your main objective is to finish the book, which portrays your idea and imagination. Publish your first book, expect nothing but just review.
